I have researched and as a father of five have discovered the key to dealing with and defeating obesity is to increase your food knowledge and be aware of your habits. I'm also an author of a children's book dedicated to teach better eating habits to kids. Take a look and pick up some helpful awareness tips. www.charlesthechef.com http://charlesthechefinc.blogspot.com/

I had gastric bypass surgery three years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made. Dr. Marina Kurian who also did the bypass surgery for Al Roker, helped me in more ways then one. Not only have I been able to put off the weight but I have been able to maintain a healthy lifestyle that I otherwise would of not had the confidence to do. You should check out Dr. Kurian website at www.noobesity.com and hear what she has to say about the surgery.

No!! Surgery is a quick-fix solution that will not last. It does not repair the damage that has been caused by years of unhealthy eating. Diet and exercise are harder, and require so much more perseverance and discipline, but the rewards are so much greater. You will build a healthier lifestyle, you will start to reverse the effects of over-eating, and your body will begin to function as it was designed to. Surgery has many risks involved and does not help you change your attitude and your mindset for how to live healthier. What's to stop you putting the weight back on again after the surgery? You need to change your lifestyle because your body is for LIFE. It's hard, I know it is, and it sux, but if you keep going and you persevere the rewards are huge.
